  • LIHEAP:  Households who have a heating source late notice, overdue amount, or a disconnect notice may qualify for LIHEAP Crisis Assistance (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program). Assistance in submitting LIHEAP applications can be obtained by calling or emailing the contact person listed below.  The Outreach Offices will schedule in-person appointments for emergencies only. Hours will vary based on need.

NOTE: The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) is ordering all utilities under its jurisdiction to suspend until further notice, and for at least 30 days, all disconnections for non-payment, as well as late payment fees, in order to provide relief for customers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.

  • Benefind Assistance Program:  Assisters provide help for residents in understanding their options for health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or health care law.

  • Supportive Services for Veteran Families:  SSVF provides short-term assistance to Veterans that are either facing an eviction or are homeless.  In addition to receiving financial assistance, program staff assist Veterans in identifying potential VA and public/mainstream benefits that they may be eligible for as well as other income-generating ideas to remain stably housed upon program exit.  NOTE: You must provide a DD-214, a HINQ report and/or VHA card to prove Veteran status. Assistance in obtaining these documents can be provided. You must have a discharge status other than “Dishonorable.”

  • Transportation:  Foothills Express is operating the EKU Yellow Route and limited service only (dialysis/critical needs and non-emergency medical transportation including pharmacy trips).  Limited service now operates on a one-to-one ratio (1 driver; 1 passenger as a result of new Medicaid guidelines). If someone needs medical-related transportation, please call us.  If Foothills Express is not able to provide transportation, we may be able to provide other resources.
